Cooking for Constitution Day!

Curious about Norwegian and Scandinavian cuisine?

Let’s inject a bit of “hygge” into your weekend and go Nordic!

May 17th is a significant day for all Norwegians – it’s when we dress up in our special “bunad” (see my pic), walk-in parades organized throughout the country, and of course…. Eat lots of delicious food!

In this on demand cooking class, I’ll teach you more about what Norwegian food is and show you how you can easily recreate a little piece of Norway in your home.

Cooking Class

In this cooking class we’ll be cooking up three, classic Norwegian dishes:

Scandinavian potato salad with fresh herbs and lemon

Instead of dousing the salad with lots of mayo, Norwegians prefer adding lots of fresh acidity like lemons and pickles, as well as a little sour cream. Yum!

Lentil pate with cucumbers on open-faced sandwiches

A perfect dish to include in the big champagne breakfast and smorgasbord so many Norwegians enjoy on this very special day

Red, White & Blue Dessert

Norway has the best strawberries in the world, so there’s no 17th of May celebration without these berries. I’ll include some whipped cream and blueberries celebrating the Norwegian colors, all enveloped in a shortcake. Simple and delicious—you’ll love this sweet ending!
