The breakfast or brunch “koldtbord”, which we call “påskefrokost”, is the most celebrated meal and we are also known for putting together some delicious sweet treats for this holiday. 

This class gives you a taste of what Norwegians enjoy this time of year!

What we’ll be cooking together:

Smoked “Salmon” with Scrambled “Eggs”

A classic on the spread served for Easter breakfast! I’ll show you a brilliant way to recreate salmon the plant-based way!

Saftig appelsinkake (Juicy orange cake)

It wouldn’t be Easter without eating oranges. In addition to eating them as is, they’re perfect in this juicy cake that brings out all the flavors of Easter.

Marsipankuler (Marzipan truffles)

Norwegians love their marzipan! While you can buy marzipan in the store, I will show you how you can easily make your own! You’ll want to keep these truffles on hand for whenever you have company over.

In addition to demoing the various recipes and dishes, in this class I will share what other non-food traditions are common during Easter (which is just as big of a holiday as Christmas in Norway) for Norwegians and maybe inspire you to adopt some of these fun activities in your home and family.
